About National Rescue

The National Rescue Group was formed in 1971 as the reincarnation of Cambridge Coachworks. Before then, our company was known as Sun Coachworks, and dated all the way back to the 1960s. Today, our award-winning vehicles, adorned with gold and brown livery, are a very familiar sight on the roads.

Fully Certified

Working tirelessly, we ensure a professional approach to every task we perform. As a result, our company is ISO 9001 accredited and PAS 43 certified. Moreover, we are founding members of AVRO, LARO, and the more recently formed RHA.

A History of Innovation

National Rescue has always believed in adapting our services to empower customers. That’s why our company was the first British recovery operator to join the World Wide Web. In fact, the first version of our website dates back to June 1993.

A Leading Company

Widely acknowledged as one of Great Britain’s foremost experts in vehicle breakdown and recovery, National Rescue operates from our headquarters at Rescue House, Oakcroft Road, Chessington, in Surrey. From there, we utilise an extensive network of computer-controlled PDAs running the latest APEX RMS touch-screen software. We can route any roadside and recovery vehicles to locations across the UK without delay.

Assisting the Industry

Much of our work is carried out in the motor trade service. Many garages find National Rescue efficient and significantly more cost-effective than having work carried out in-house. Our company is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we are always available to help.

Dependable Services

Some of the UK’s largest blue-chip organizations depend on the recovery provisions our capable company offers. These include British Telecom™, British Gas™, Tesco™, Racal™, Shell™, HM Revenue & Customs, and the London Ambulance Service. Even McLaren™, the top Formula 1™ racing team, has used our services. The Metropolitan Police also regularly requires our assistance removing broken-down or damaged vehicles from the notorious A3 road.

In High Demand

National Rescue has over 50 years of experience loading and recovering all types of vehicles, including high-performance and prestigious cars. We are appointed as an agent for more than 19 different motoring organisations. Without a doubt, our largest customers are motoring clubs. Among the agencies we work with are:

50th Year Anniversary Message from the M.D.

“This year, we mark a significant milestone in our company’s history. (2021)

It was exactly 50 years ago this year (2021) that we opened our doors for business. It has been an amazing journey as our business has evolved into one of the most respected vehicle breakdown services in the Country. We now provide employment for almost 30 people, helping to secure the livelihood of our staff and their families.

We have, thankfully, had more ups than downs, and the business is now in the best place it has ever been to continue its evolution.

I would like to offer my sincere and heartfelt thanks to all of our dedicated and committed staff for their unstinting support, to all of our suppliers and supporters for working with us, but most importantly, an enormous thanks to all of our loyal and valued clients and customers.

Without you, we have no business, and we cannot provide for the livelihood of the staff we employ.

Going forward, we will continue to be innovators and leaders in our industry. We will continue to invest in technology, infrastructure, and, most importantly, the people who will continue to help grow our business.

In signing off, I would like to offer once again my sincere and heartfelt thanks to everyone who has in some way helped shape our business and to provide an assurance that we will continue to repay the loyalty and faith installed in us by our customers.

Here’s to the next 50 years!!”
